What is The Sound Cavern?
The Sound Cavern is a purpose-built mixing studio in Bristol, UK, created to bring out the very best in an artist’s music. With a focus on warmth, depth, clarity and true three-dimensional sound, every mix is shaped with care to preserve the emotion and character of the song while giving it a powerful, immersive presence. From detailed stereo mixes to Dolby Atmos, The Sound Cavern combines a highly considered listening environment with modern mixing technology to create records that feel expansive, natural and deeply engaging. The aim is simple: to make every song sound as good as it can today, while giving it the timeless quality that keeps listeners coming back for years to come.
Who's behind the controls?
Si Ottway is a Bristol-based audio engineer and mixing specialist with a lifelong passion for music and over 20 years of experience developing his craft. Working from The Sound Cavern in North West Bristol, Si brings a musical and highly attentive approach to every mix, focusing on enhancing the emotion, dynamics and character already present in an artist’s song rather than simply making it louder or more polished. His work spans stereo and immersive Dolby Atmos mixing, with a particular emphasis on creating warmth, depth, clarity and a genuinely three-dimensional listening experience. With credits including Komposa, Dead Calm and Staxx, Si combines technical precision with an instinctive understanding of what makes a record connect, helping artists turn great songs into rich, immersive mixes designed to stand the test of time.

The Sound Cavern's main focus is to provide a uniquely collaberative,
professional mixing service specialising in both Dolby Atmos and Stereo formats.
Final mixes are delivered at 48khz/24bit (or higher if required). Please see below for what is included with each option:
All Stereo mixes come with:
- The option to attend a four hour session
- Unlimited revisions
- Final stereo mix
- Instrumental
- Acapella
- PA Mix
All Atmos mixes come with:
- The option to attend a four hour session
- Unlimited revisions
- Final Atmos ADM Master file (Correctly aligned with the stereo master)
- MP4 version of the Atmos ADM master file
- Binaural version
If you choose the option for Stereo and Atmos combined, all of the above is included at a discounted rate.
Service - Podcast Editing
The Sound Cavern's main focus is to provide a uniquely collaberative,
professional podcast editing service specialising in both Dolby Atmos and Stereo formats.
Editing of Podcasts include:
- The option to attend a four hour session
- Clean/fix any issues with the recordings
- Signal processing
- Mixed in Dolby Atmos (If required)
- Polished industry-ready Podcast
Podcasts are delivered at:
A, -1 DBFS (Maximum)
B, -18 LUFS (Integrated)
C, 48khz (Or 96khz) / 24bit
Service - Immersive File Conversion
Currently when mixing music in Dolby Atmos, an ADM file is exported as the final mix/master.
The final ADM file is then used for releasing your Dolby Atmos mixes on streaming services or for placement in TV/film.
Outside of this an ADM file is not recognised as a format for consumer use.
However, there are three formats that can be used to playback a Dolby Atmos mix in a fully immersive speaker setup:
• MP4 File
• MLP File
• MKV File
MP4 is a compressed/lossy version but can be played back on any Apple device,
Dolby Atmos TVs and on selected DJ software (ex: Virtual DJ).
MLP is Dolby’s True HD format that allows Dolby Atmos to play back on Blu-Ray disc’s,
on Dolby Atmos TVs and on Audiophile receivers/home theatre setups passed through HDMI.
MKV is an uncompressed/lossless container format. A video and/or a MLP file are contained within the MKV
file to be played back on Dolby Atmos TVs and Audiophile receivers/home theatre setups passed through HDMI.
Why would I consider converting to these formats?
Both MP4 and MKV formats are sold on Immersive Audio Album. A unit sold on IAA is sold for CD prices rather than £0.002p per stream.
This site is very popular with Audiophiles who like to hear audio as it was intended at the highest quality possible.
Though it’s predicted that the future of clubbing is an immersive sound & MP4 will initially become the go to format.
MLP files can be burned to Blu-Ray DVD’s and sold on Pure Audio Recordings.
Do I need a music video?
No. Blu-Ray disc’s, MP4 and MKV/MKA files can be created with or without a music video.

Once the ADM/MLP and Video file(s) have been uploaded, please allow up to 48hrs for delivery. To ensure privacy & security,
